CUCUMBER - CARROT THALIPAT

Cooking Time: 15 mins, Serves - 3 

Ingredients

Rice Flour - 2 cups
Ragi Flour - 1 tbsp
Wheat Flour - 1 tbsp
Juicy Cucumber - 2 grated
Carrot - 1 grated 
Onion - 1 medium chopped finely
Ginger- Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Coriander - 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - 4-5 leaves
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Dhania powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Green Chili paste - 1 tsp (as per taste)
Oil - 2 tsp.

PREPARATION:

  • Grate the cucumber, carrot squeeze the excess water in a small bowl and keep aside.
  • Dry roast the onions for a minute till it is translucent.
  • In a bowl add rice flour, ragi flour and wheat flour.
  • Add 1 tsp oil and mix well.
  • Add roasted onions, carrot, cucumber, dhania powder, salt, coriander, curry leaves, Green chilli paste and mix well.
  • Add little squeezed carrot and cucumber water to the above mixture and knead to a hard dough. The consistency should be thick. (do not add more water as the dough will become soft after few minutes.)
  • Heat the tava on burner.
  • Take muslin cloth, dip in a water and remove excess water keep aside.
  • Place orange size dough on muslin cloth and just pat it with the hands to make round in shape.
  • Once the tava is hot, lift the muslin cloth and place thalipat on tava.
  • Roast it on both sides by sprinkling oil.
  • Serve hot thalipeet with curd and cream/Ghee/Butter.

For seasoning Urad dal - 1/4 tsp Mustard - 1/2 tsp Jeera - 1/2 tsp Hing - a pinch Curry leaves - 3-5 garlic - 3-5 finely chopped Preparation Pressure cooker chenna dal and snake guard for 1 whistle and keep aside.
